Underdrive Pulley Set, 6-rib serpentine system, for 2002 thru 2007 Ford F-series Trucks (all models except Lightning & supercharged Harley) and 2002-2008 Ford Expeditions with 4.6 or 5.4 V8 engines, with 6-rib serpentine systems.
Note: Some of the 2002 F-150's and a very few of the 2003 F-150's can have either 8-rib or 6-rib systems, so before ordering take a quick peek under the hood to count the number of "ribs" on your stock pulleys - they will have either 6 or 8 "ribs." All the 2004 (including 2004 Heritage models) & newer F-150 models with either V8 engine will have this 6-rib type of serpentine system.
This is a 2-piece set of underdrive pulleys, one for the crankshaft and the other for the water pump. They are designed for operation on the street whether your truck is a daily driver, a drag race truck or towing heavy loads, these pulleys are designed specifically for proper alternator output & battery charging for street vehicles.
We have also redesigned the water pump pulley to accommodate the changes Ford made to the front timing cover in the newer 4.6 & 5.4 engines so that the water pump pulley does not come into contact with the casting ribs or bosses on any of the front timing covers, as was the case with a few newer trucks. This change also requires the use of a 1 inch shorter serpentine belt size listed below for your convenience. That potential water pump pulley interference issue on the front timing cover that affected a few trucks no longer exists due to the new design of the water pump pulley, making installation easier & quicker!
Power gains run anywhere from a low of 11.8 HP at the rear wheels at on the stock factory PCM program, to as much as a high of 15 RWHP when using our custom tuning (due to slightly higher shift points in the automatics). Much of the power gain from these underdrive pulleys is available from right off idle for improved throttle response.
Installation is a simple 1 hour affair, requiring a standard pulley puller to replace the crankshaft pulley. Many of our customers install these pulleys themselves, and others simply have their local Ford dealership do the installation - just keep in mind that you do need to know how to properly use a pulley puller tool (a standard tool for decades) to remove the pressed-on factory crankshaft pulley.
This kit requires a 1 inch shorter serpentine belt, and we recommend the Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt as it's much higher quality, and are no more expensive than the factory belt. This will also stop the serpentine belt "squeal" that is heard many times during heavy-throttle upshifts in these vehicles, especially if a performance tune is being used. We carry these Goodyear Gatorback belts, for 2002 & 2003 F-150's, order our Part# 4060980, and for 2004 & up F-150's with the new 3-valve 5.4 engine, order Part# 4061010. All of these belts are listed at the bottom of this page, as well as in the "Belts" section of our Store here. For 2003 F-250 SuperDuty Trucks, the correct belt to order is our Part# 406990.

This underdrive pulley set is for the newer (generally 2002 & up) 6-rib systems found on 4.6 & 5.4 V8 engines - for those of you with 8-rib systems (which are found on all of the 1997-2001 F-150 platform vehicles, and some of the 2002 models) please order our Part# 528774 instead. IMPORTANT NOTE: Owners of 2002 & 2003 model-year F-series & Expeditions need to do a quick check underhood to count the number of ribs on the serpentine belt or one of the pulleys to determine if you have a 6-rib or 8-rib system before ordering.
