Stage 3 Performance Package for 2004 and Newer Ford F-150's with the 300 HP 3-valve 5.4 V8 engine - all body styles, including all SuperCab & SuperCrew models, Lariat, FX4, short cabs, etc. This package starts off with our famous Troyer Performance custom tuning, featuring 3 different custom-tuned performance programs for your vehicle's PCM (Powertrain Control Module) provided in a convenient & reversible hand-held flash device with full email update and high-speed data logging capabilities! Then comes the most powerful intake kit, the 3.5" Air Force One! Next is a complete replacement T304 aircraft-grade stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. This is accompanied by our set of underdrive pulleys and our complete Troyer Performance Dual 16" electric fan kit, using the very best available components. Then to take this package even further, we include a set of bolt-on Long-Tube Headers complete with high-flow Y-pipe and High-Flow performance Catalytic Converters, all made of the best T304 stainless steel. They are designed to bolt on directly in place of your stock factory exhaust manifolds and factory Y-pipe and catalytic converter assembly, no cutting or welding! Next comes our ignition system upgrade featuring a complete replacement set of coil packs putting out 60,000 volts (more than 3 times the stock coil packs!) to increase the output of the ignition system & thus insure maximum combustion at these higher power levels & cylinder pressures, especially when the humidity rises - we also include a colder set of spark plugs, too! The custom tuning package includes 3 different custom performance tunes that will set your vehicle up for any type of operation you desire - the most common and flexible combination is one program for operation on 87 octane fuel that is towing-compatible, then a second program tuning the engine for maximum power on premium gasoline (91-93 octane, depending on your location) that is also towing-compatible, and then our famous premium gas Maximum Performance program, yet is still safe for daily driver use! That's our most popular combination of 3 different custom tunes, just for one example - we'll set your custom tuning up however you like, as we go over the tuning needs of each vehicle owner individually to help them properly select a set of 3 different custom tunes to best optimize the vehicle for each individual owner's needs & desires. Our tuning will result in your vehicle having improvements in both performance and driveability not only at full-throttle, but at *any* throttle position or any rpm. Whether accelerating from a standstill, passing, towing, or even drag racing, etc., our custom tuning provides a quicker-responding powertrain and a much more "willing" vehicle. There will be noticeably better tip-in throttle response, and that annoying factory "throttle lag" inherent in these new ETC "drive-by-wire" systems will be a thing of the past - you will also have less slippage in the automatic transmission and torque converter with quicker, firmer shifts, resulting in reduced heat buildup in the automatic transmission. Best of all, this is accomplished without spoiling the beautifully smooth vehicle characteristics the F-150 has been infused with in the redesign of the F-150 for the 2004 & newer model years! Full diagnostic and datalogging capabilities are retained even with the performance tuning installed, and the 99 mph top speed limiter will be a thing of the past as well. Your truck will be able to cruise at triple-digit speeds (if conditions permit.) IMPORTANT NOTE: Your truck will now have a significantly higher top speed capability - well over 140 MPH! The factory tires are not rated for sustained high speeds. Just be aware of this much higher top speed capability and if you intend to use it, install appropriately speed-rated tires! Then there is a complete replacement intake kit to provide the largest possible power gains, and helps throttle response and increases power noticeably right from idle on up thru the higher rpms, bringing in cool fresh air thru its lower-restriction air intake tract. This intake gives a pleasing throaty sound at full-throttle, while being quiet during low-load and normal cruising conditions. Next up is our Underdrive Pulley kit, which frees up even more power by reducing "parasitic" losses. Designed for years of continuous & rugged use on the street and with a stock-appearing tough black finish, these pulleys will provide perfectly adequate alternator charging capabilities for normal daily-driver use while reducing fuel consumption and delivering more power all the time, at any engine rpm or throttle position! Next comes our Troyer Performance Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit, designed specifically for the 2004 & up new body style F-150. This kit installs in approximately 3.5 - 4 hours, depending on the experience level of the installer. Featuring dual independent fans and controllers, this system provides complete redundant capabilities. Should a fan or controller ever fail, the vehicle can still be operated, unlike virtually any other kit on the market. One of the electric fans will automatically activate any time the A/C is in use to allow for even better cabin cooling in hot summer weather. These dual 16" electric fans will also help to improve fuel mileage by anywhere from a low of 1.0 to as much as 2.5 MPG, depending on vehicle configuration & weight, terrain, and operating conditions (how the vehicle is driven). It's a great modification that gives you the best of both worlds - more power all the time, at any throttle position or engine rpm *and* better fuel economy all at the same time! The exhaust is taken care of with a combination of our direct bolt-on Long Tube Headers & replacement Y-pipe with High-Flow Catalytic Converters that require no cutting or welding - and of course, a complete replacement T304 stainless steel 3" SISO (Single In/Single Out) Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system! the 3" SISO configuration the best choice for those who want a classic V8 sound without overly "loud” noises or “droning” entering into the cabin and the absolute best part-throttle torque. This exhaust is one the wife & kids won't object to, while still pleasing the performance enthusiast. This 3" Magnaflow system features a beautiful 4" mirror-polished stainless steel tip exiting in the same location as the stock exhaust, right behind the right rear wheel. (For those who prefer a classic Dual Exhaust look & sound, we can also provide an SIDO (Single In/Dual Out) exhaust system, with dual polished stainless steel tips exiting straight out the back of the vehicle, in the "classic" pickup truck dual exhaust look - or we can even provide the Magnaflow "Lightning-style" exhaust with dual tips existing ahead of the right rear wheels - call us for details on this option!) Our ignition system upgrade is an easy bolt-on installation that replaces your vehicle's coil packs with 60,000 volt units to provide maximum spark - as well as a set of colder replacement spark plugs specially made for the 3-valve Ford modular 5.4 engine to keep the combustion chamber temperatures in check. Installation is easy and bolt on with this ignition upgrade (Note: When replacing the spark plugs, we recommend using Ford's TSB procedure that requires the use of Aerokroil for thread lubrication and a loosen & re-tighten technique to insure the spark plugs come out properly - call us for any questions on this). The power gains from this Stage 3 package are felt immediately, and thru the entire rpm range - precisely what these heavier 2004 & newer F-150's need to get them moving in any situation! The power gains are generally in the 58-75 horsepower range at the rear wheels, and the exact power numbers will vary based on the usual factors such as the tune used, fuel quality, dyno variances and testing conditions, as well as atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity & barometric pressure). The power gains in the areas referred to as "below the curve" (meaning everywhere below the absolute peak at 5000 rpm) are simply amazing - at 3000 rpm the gains from our Stage 3 package are already approaching 45 HP at the rear wheels at just 3000 rpm! The actual performance improvement in terms of acceleration times varies as usual with the F-150. We usually see anywhere from about 1.5 to as much as 2.5 seconds off the 0-60 & 1/4 mile times from this Stage 3 package when properly controlled tests are done under the same temperature, humidity & track conditions - the difference is one you can feel, and will greatly enhance the enjoyability, responsiveness, safety and sheer performance of this vehicle. The intake system can be installed by anyone who can handle a few simple tools (like a wrench & screwdriver, etc.) in about 30 minutes, and the air filter element needs routine maintenance (cleaning & re-oiling) at 30,000 mile intervals. The exhaust system is all T304 stainless steel from front to rear, including the clamps & fasteners! The headers & cat-back exhaust system include everything needed to install (except tools, and can be removed to have all the original factory components reinstalled. The cat-back exhaust system is backed by a Lifetime warranty to the original purchaser for as long as they own the original vehicle it was purchased for. The headers and high-flow catted y-pipe assembly will take about 4-6 hours to complete the direct bolt-on installation.
